An organization that’s changing lives
I’d like to introduce you to Statement Junky, Inc.
Statement Junky, Inc. is a non-profit youth development organization that develops future world leaders by changing the way girls and young women of color interact and see the world.
Founded by Rashell V. Evans, Statement Junky, Inc. has the ultimate mission of gifting girls and young women of color with an essential key to access the world – her first passport.
The various programs inside Statement Junky, Inc. provide a safe and inspiring space for participants to thrive and build lifelong relationships while discussing topics and issues unique to them.
Here’s a glimpse at the mission statement from the organization’s website:
“Using a passport as a tool to access the world, Statement Junky’s vision is that all girls will reach beyond the borders of her community to see the world, utilizing self-discovery, personal experiences and knowledge gained through exploration to ultimately change the world.”
The ultimate travel guide you can’t miss
I first learned about the organization and its programs in May of 2019, because my dear friend Nealy Gihan is a contributing author of the book, She’s Ready, the awe-inspiring travel guide produced by Evans, along with numerous other talented and motivational female authors, that will stir within you the desires to travel and align with your life’s purpose.
She’s Ready is meant for women who aspire to explore the world and find themselves at the end of their journey.

This book will, without a doubt, illustrate the tremendous impact that travel can have on women seeking to align with who they are — women who are discovering their life purpose, and manifesting their goals.
I fell in love with the book because each woman who shares her story has a unique perspective on her motivations for traveling, the struggles she faced, the things she learned and even the physical experiences she had along the way.
Get ready! While reading this book, you will be whisked away to the alluring destinations right along with each female author — from diving into the oceans off the Australian coast; to wandering the streets of Amsterdam; serving others and praying over homes near the Sierra Madre Mountains in Mexico; and even frolicking through rain showers while walking the streets of London.

How you can help + How to donate
In recent months prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, Statement Junky, Inc. was thriving in its recruitment of girls into the program and through their partnerships with schools and other organizations.
However, today, they need your help.
Statement Junky, Inc. has joined I Fund Women to launch their 10K Campaign to transition their Passport Queens into a digital landscape. (Read about the Passport Queens Program, HERE.) The two organizations are working to create an online platform just for their girls to make the programming available to girls of color nationally, despite the challenges and limitations that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented.
