7 days to a more creative imagination.
Here are seven small ways to boost your levels of creativity. I have used these techniques, and I’ve come to realize, simple things matter. Implement one new task each day!
Day 1: Exercise for 30 minutes
Start by physically boosting your brain activity!
Experts say exercise increases heart rate = pumps oxygen to the brain = releases hormones that help brain GROWTH.
Some experts say exercise is most beneficial in the morning, but getting it in is what counts. Start today.

Day 2: Brain dump
This happens ALL DAY.
Be ready with a note pad or your smartphone for when you have ideas that come to you, and things you need to remember for later so you don’t get fixated on one thing.
Your mind will begin to flow more freely, and this will increase your levels of creativity!
I have friends who have also done this at night time, should they wake up from a dream, or with an awesome idea they can’t afford to forget. It works!
Day 3: Space check
CLEAR OFF your desk, work space, or living area.
Did you know that having a physically cluttered environment can cause some people to have writer’s block?
TIME TO ORGANIZE.
Day 4: Be outdoors
Studies show that being outside can reduce anxiety and depression — two things that rob us of our creativity.
Enjoy at least an hour outside today.
Beach. River. Your own sidewalk outside. Sit under a tree and be still.
Day 5: Know your inspiration
What makes you want to write or create?
I believe it was Ingrid in the book White Oleander who famously said, “nobody becomes an artist unless they have to.” You feel compelled to create, and you do it. Find what drives you. Write it down!
Day 6: Books and music
Books and music. You could write multiple novels on this one, but here simply stated, I will say it is beneficial for you to get a brain boost by listening to your music in solitude, or reading a chapter or even a page of literature to get yourself out of your own head.
A little change of perspective will drive your thoughts and multiply your ideas.
Day 7: Map your ideas
I like to call this “visualization.”
Make the ideas and project synthesis into a flow chart.
Picture what your finished project will look like and map out the step by step process of getting there.
In your mind will be etched a vision of what your idea will look like manifested.
